Ink Bar opened on **27 July 2000** and closed on **23 May 2025**, when our lease expired.
That's **298 months** of being open.
For at least the last 20 years of that time, Ink was Auckland's home of underground techno and house music.
If you're reading this, there's a good chance you had a few memorable nights with us over those 25 years.
What really matters, though, is the community, the culture and the friendships that grew from a shared love of underground techno and house music at Ink Bar.
I'd love to see a few of you at **The Mothership** from **11pm on Saturday, August 1st**, to celebrate with us.
**Greg Churchill**, Ink's main man, will be playing from **11pm–1am**.
**Rayza** and **Darren Bailey**, two of the crew behind **Burnout**—one of Ink's longest-running parties—will take over from **1am–4am**.

A true pioneer of New Zealand electronic music, Greg Churchill has spent over four decades shaping the country's underground house and techno scene. Widely regarded as the "Godfather of New Zealand House," his career has taken him from legendary residencies at The Box and Ink to international tours, UK chart success and releases on labels including Underwater, Ministry of Sound, Toolroom, Hed Kandi and Azuli.
Known for his impeccable programming, technical precision and marathon sets, Greg has shared stages with some of the biggest names in electronic music while remaining one of New Zealand's most respected and influential DJs. Decades on, he continues to inspire new generations of artists and clubbers alike.

As the driving force behind Burnout Music Events, Rayza and Darren Bailey have spent years championing underground house and techno in Auckland. Inspired by the club culture of Europe and the UK, they've built Burnout into one of the city's longest-running underground parties, delivering forward-thinking house, techno and uncompromising dancefloor energy. Their sets are built for the club—no gimmicks, just quality music, seamless selections and an atmosphere that keeps people moving until the lights come on.
